Live Performance: At the End of the Week, Youth Step On The Stage

The DRUM Juneteenth Summer Camp is a week-long cultural immersion experience designed to ignite expression, restore identity, and plant seeds of purpose in the hearts of our youth. All content learned throughout the week is presented in a on-stage performance for community members, parents, supporters, constituents, and sponsors.

WHAT IS THE SUMMER CAMP?

Every summer, DRUM The Program brings together youth for a transformative week unlike anything else available in their communities.

It is not just a camp. It is an experience, one that uses the ancient rhythms of West African tradition to help young people discover who they are, feel that they belong, and step boldly into who they are becoming.

And at the end of that week? They stand on stage and share their light with the world.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Juneteenth Summer Camp is designed for youth in underserved communities who may not otherwise have access to cultural arts programming.

If you have a child, student, or young person in your life who needs:

  • A safe, nurturing space to express themselves

  • Connection to their cultural identity

  • Community that sees them and stays with them

  • A reason to feel proud of who they are

This camp was made for them.

THE MOMENT THAT MATTERS

There is a moment that happens every year at the end of camp, when our youth step onto that stage.

They are not the same children who walked in on Monday.

They stand taller. They breathe fuller. They look out at the audience and they know, I am seen. I have something to offer. I belong here.

That moment is what DRUM The Program was built for.

Sponsor a Youth for $700

For just $700, you can give a child access to a full week of cultural immersion including all programming, transportation, and the performance experience. Your donation is tax-deductible. Your impact is real.

“Highly recommended! The growth my child has shown from being in this program is beautiful. Not just from the music and dance aspect but the social emotional learning has helped her as well.”
